Logistics warehousing refers to the process of receiving, storing, and managing products or goods taken from a specific point, keeping them safe for a certain period, and preparing them for transfer to desired destinations. The type of warehouse used depends on how long the goods will be stored.

Warehouse types vary depending on whether the goods need to be protected from air exposure. These can generally be categorized as open-air warehouses, closed warehouses, and cold storage facilities. The warehousing process is generally carried out in five main stages.

These stages are:
•    Goods receiving process,
•    Internal warehouse transport process,
•    Stacking process,
•    Order picking process, and finally
•    Shipment process from the warehouse.
